BOONE COUNTY RACEWAY
2010 STREET STOCK RULES 1-12-2010
SAFETY
1. Cars are required to have a four point roll cage that
shall be constructed of high strength steel tube that shall
measure no smaller than 1 3/4" O.D. and have a minimum thickness of .090".
2. Drive shaft must be painted white and a drive shaft
loop, metal, chain, etc. is mandatory.
3. Fuel line may not extend below the frame at any point.
4. Full Fire suit, gloves and racing
helmets are required and approved SHCA or Snell-type full coverage Snell
SA2000 or SA2005.
5. Car must be equipped with an
approved 4 or 5 point racing harness. Safety
belts no older than three years. Aluminum racing seat is mandatory.
6. Window safety net is mandatory.
7. All doors must be securely fastened shut.
8. A minimum of three door bars in the drivers door 1 ¾ dia. .090
thickness and two in passenger door mandatory.
9. A minimum of three bars in the left half of the
windshield is required.
10. Racing fuel cell and
a tip over valve MANDATORY.
11. Fuel cell vents including cap vent
must have check valves. If fuel cell
does not have aircraft style positive seal filler neck/CAP system-
A flapper,
spring, or ball type filler rollover valve is required.
BODY
1. Any American OEM full body rear wheel drive passenger
car, 1964 or newer, full frame or unibody
passenger
cars only. No station wagons,
convertibles, front wheel drives, rear-engines or rusted and loose
bodied cars permitted. No wheel base shorter than 107.5. Pro Am type cars, Camero and Nova style
cars, allowed.
2. Engine and body must be same make.
3. All cars must have a complete
factory floor pan and back seat area.
Trunk area may be removed, and complete fire walls front to rear.
No glass, headlights, trim moldings, mirrors
allowed.
4. Wheel wells may be trimmed for tire clearance, but
should retain stock appearance whenever possible.
5. Battery cannot be located in drivers compartment. May be under the hood or in the trunk. No weights in driver compartment.
6. Gas tank fuel cell must be moved to the rear deck area. No adjustable fuel cell mounts. Mounts must be steel and welded to
frame/cage.
7. Car shall retain factory bumpers and remain in original
position. Reinforcements are allowed,
but not to
exceed past original
bumper. No "cow catcher"
additions above or below either bumper.
8. Numbering on cars: Car numbers must be 18” tall and 3” wide and
must be located on both sides of the car. Also an 18” tall
roof number is
mandatory, the base of the number should be on the passenger side of the roof
facing the grandstands.
If the number
is unreadable, you will be notified to make the necessary changes for the
following week. If
the number is still unreadable,
you will not be scored. Car numbers can
have a maximum of two numbers and one letter.
If possible, we would like to avoid letters unless there is a
duplication of numbers. The size, color and style of numbers must
be
adequate to permit prompt identification by officials at all times.
9. Cars must have tow hooks front and rear.
10. Body must be stock-steel or aluminum stock appearing..
11. Side skirts will be allowed, no lower than 1” below frame
rail.
12. Maximum 5” spoiler at the rear of the trunk is
allowed.
13. Aftermarket plastic nose and tail pieces allowed,
recommended to match body.
14. Rub rails--Maximum one inch by two inch steel rub rails
may be attached to body from fender well to
fender
well and rear quarter panel, flush with body.
15. Front bumper construction optional but must remain in the
original position. May be factory or
tubular and
may be
reinforced. No bracing to exceed past
original bumper. No “cow catcher” type
additions above or
below either
bumper. Must be covered by stock
appearing nose and plastic. Subject to
approval by Boone County Raceway
Officials.
16. Hoods and trunks must be on hood pins, no hood hinges.
ENGINE
1. Engine must be stock and remain in
factory position. No set back allowed. Solid motor mounts are required.
GM metric frame, center of fuel pump must
be located minimum 1.75 inches in front of cross member.
Ford metric must have back of fuel pump in
front of cross member.
2. Unaltered cast intake or aluminum intake that
measures 3.75 inches from the top of the block to the top of
the intake for GM and Ford. Chrysler must measure 4.25 from the top of
the block to the top of the intake.
3. Stock appearing on the outside, HEI or single point
distributors allowed. MSD boxes are
allowed.
4. Headers optional exhaust must exit
under the car and point toward the rear.
Round tube headers only.
Must
remain dual exhaust, no crossovers, 180 degree, Zoomies, or Tri Y headers.
5. Only steel heads allowed. Heads may be ported.
6. No roller cams or mushroom lifters. Maximum lifter diameter on GM engine
.874. Lifter must be 100% steel.
7. Stock or roller rockers are optional. Screw in or pinned rocker studs allowed.
8. Stock placement mechanical fuel pump only. No shaft rockers on GM or Ford.
TRANSMISSION
You must have at least one gear forward and one
reverse, plus a neutral position. With
motor running
and car in a
still position, driver must be able to engage car in gear and move forward and then
backward.
Only OEM production type transmission will be
allowed-three speed, four speed and automatic.
No
five speed
transmissions, in and out boxes, or quick change devices allowed. Functioning
shifter
must be in stock location on transmission manufactured after 1995. The
flywheel/flexplate must be
bolted
directly to the end of the crankshaft, and the pressure plate must be bolted
directly to the flywheel.
One
flywheel only, and all drive line components within the bellhousing must rotate
while the car is in gear.
(A) All manual gear-type transmissions must have a standard OEM case and
must have a
working
single-disc clutch inside an explosion-proof
bellhousing.
(B)
Automatic transmissions must remain in OEM stock appearing automatic case.
Original bellhousing
must
remain. Must have an approved scatter
shield or blanket. Scattershield may be
constructed of .25
inch steel, 270 degrees around
flexplate/ flywheel. A
& B will be strictly inforced for your own safety as
well as others.
FUEL
Gasoline only, racing fuel
allowed. No E85. No performance enhancing additives or
scented additives.
Fuel must pass both
dialectric meter and chemical test.
Fuel sample may be taken from any car at any time.
Penalty for illegal fuel is disqualification
from event and $250.00 fine-first offense.
CARBURETOR
1. No fuel injection.
One carburetor only.
2. Adapter plate and/or spacer gaskets may not exceed 1
1/2".
3. Only one 14” by 4” thick round stock appearing air
cleaner will be allowed.
4. No carb hats, air boxes or other air flow devices are
allowed.
5. Maximum of 1” spacer between carburetor and air
cleaner “sure seal ring” (for clearance purpose only)
6. May run two barrel Holley #4412, 500 CFM, or Quadra jet.
Alterations:
*Choke
plate may be removed. Choke housing
must remain in place.
*Jets
and power valves may be changed.
*No
vacuum leaks between air cleaner and intake valves.
*Accelerator
pump squirter may not extend into the area directly above the venturi
(tech purposes).
7. No after market or non-factory carburetors allowed.
8. The Holley # 4412 may have the air bleed hole enlarged
in the throttle plate only.
SUSPENSION
1. Factory intent stock suspension. 78-88 GM G body rear upper control arms
11.25 inch, lowers, 19.75 inch measurement
from center to center bolt
holes. Removal recommended for accurate
measurements.
2. All control arms and suspension components must be
factory OEM length and match OEM frame.
3. Front and rear suspensions remain in stock
location. Stock A-frames may be
reinforced. Tubular upper A-arms OK.
4. Rubber, nylon or steel lower A frame bushings only, no
offset or bearing type.
5. No sway bars.
6. Weight jacks allowed however must be in original
centerline of spring tower. No devices
allowed that
would enable driver
adjustments to alter the wheelbase or weight jacking while car is in
competition.
7. No torque arms, pull bars allowed anywhere on rear
suspension. Rear suspension must retain
stock
non-adjustable
trailing arms.

SUSPENSION (CONTINUED)
8. All rear end suspension components and mounts must be
steel, unaltered OEM, in OEM location and match frame.
Rubber or nylon
control arm bushings only, no offset or bearing type. Welded single-hole shock
mounts
only. Coil springs may be moved, but
50% must be located over top of rear-end housing. No
independent
rear suspension. Shocks may be moved,
but must remain behind housing.
9. Frame rails may be no lower than 5” from ground.
10. No under slung bars under rear frame.
11. No rack-n-pinion steering.
12. One
steel spring per wheel only. All coil
springs must be minimum 4.5 inches O.D. and non progressive.
13. Shocks do no have to be in stock location however must be
single hole shock mounts only. Shocks
cannot
go
through center of aftermarket upper A frames.
Shocks must be steel non-adjustable and unaltered. One
shock
per wheel. No coil over, air, or remote
reservior shocks, or Schrader valves.
No coil over
eliminators.
14. After market brake, clutch, and master cylinders
allowed. No brake shut-off valves
allowed and
proportioning
devices must be front to rear only. All
cars must have 4 brakes in working order, one per wheel.
15. No added weight can be located inside the driver’s
compartment.
16. Mini spool, full spool, or welded spider gears ONLY
allowed. No racheting, limited slip or
any traction control devices
allowed. NO EXCEPTIONS.
WHEELS & TIRES
1. Any steel eight inch wide rim and must be steel no more
than 8” wide. Bead locks allowed on
right rear
tire
only. Oversized 1”(inch) lug nuts are mandatory.
2. American Racer racing tires or maximum tire size 255
70R/15. No 60’s or 50’s allowed. 6 1/2 inches wide
on
the ground for passenger car tires and must have DOT number on them. American Racer G60
(KK-704)
Modified tire) will be allowed until futher notice or IMCA Hoosier modified
tire only. NO EXCEPTIONS.
3. No grooving, sipping, or softening of tires
allowed. Grinding or buffing will be
allowed however method
will
be closely scrutinized. You may use
sandpaper up to and including 24 grit to remove the glaze on the
top
layer of the tires. When you are
completed with sanding your tires, the edges of the tread of the tread
blocks
must remain the same as the edge of the block next to it. You will only be able to create the look of
a worn tire, and not something
of a different tire face appearance.
(Example: no wavy tread pattern
or deep grinding will be allowed)
Must
pass Tech Inspectors approval. Method
will be closely scrutinized.
ENGINE CLAIM
1. Engine claim is $1000.00 on long
block. To discourage "Buddy
Claiming", $50.00 of any claim will go to the Boone County Raceway,
regardless of the outcome of the claim.
The claim must be in cash only.
The claim must be registered with a track official within
ten minutes
after the completion of that A Feature Race. Any driver on the
lead lap of the A
Feature
can claim any driver in the top 4 of the A Feature. Claims are absolute, refusal to sell forfeits all cash
, trophies
and points for that night. Any sabotage
to a claimed engine will
result in the saboteur being suspended
from competition for 21 days or until a
$1,000.00 cash fine is paid to the Boone County Raceway. Claim does not include
starter, water pump,
fan, distributor, spark plug wires, intake, carburetor, headers and power
steering pump.
Claimed car will remove
engine and the items they are to keep.
2. Promoter may claim the engine of any driver finishing in
the top ten immediately following feature, unless
that driver has made a legal claim in that event. Driver claim takes precedence over promoter
claim.
3. No claims two weeks before the end of season.
4. Claim is in effect on opening night for all eligible
drivers who competed in at least 2/3 of the events the
previous
year, and driver must have been at track on opening night, plus 2/3 of events
the previous year
to
be eligible to claim second night of season.
Following that, no driver may claim unless he/she
has
competed at that track the two previous consecutive events. (Example:
If claiming on July 17th
must
be in competition on July 3rd and July 10th.)
WEIGHT
1. 3,100 lbs.
NO
TOLERANCE!
2. Loose objects and/or weights must not be used in the
driver's compartment or outside of the
body or in
hood area and
must not be visible. Weights must be
securely mounted to frame or roll cage, must be
painted white and have the car number on it and be
attached with at least 2 half inch bolts.
TECH INSPECTIONS
1. After the A feature, the top four cars weigh then
proceed directly to the tech area.
Failure
to
do so is immediately disqualification.
If a car fails inspection, the 5th place car may be
asked
to the tech area. Track officials have
the option of inspecting any car at any time.
